Still creating massive number of _conflict- files.
Yet another failed attempt.
ownCloud 4.5, Ubuntu 12.04, apache, MySQL 5.5.x, VirtualBox, glusterFS.
We have abandoned ownCloud. Read why here:

C'mon, we should all stay civilised here. It's not very kind to rant about something which is provided for free, and there is no use in scolding someone for making a remark for something not working after the umpteenth rework.

There is a new version out which is supposed to improve the conflict file issue, but apparently it hasn't fixed all cases yet (as somehow was my expectation as well, seeing that there is still no proper file content check). Hopefully this will be addressed soon once and for all, so that we can all enjoy an excellent and free&opensource cloud sync!

It is not possible to solve all cases where conflicts appear because if file modification times are not equal (with a reasonable tolerance) the client has to consider that a change happened to the file. if we do not create a conflict out of that, we risk data loss.

Client 1.1.1 had a bug that file times coming from the server were not correctly parsed under certain circumstance. This one is fixed 1.1.2.

BTW - if bugs like this appear the most helpful way is to provide the client logfile (or snippets) to help debugging and provide input for bugs in the bugtracker on github.com

File syncing in the core of the product. If that doesn't work properly then the product is useless.
ownCloud should concentrate on shoring up it's core before expanding the features. Unless the core is shored up ownCloud will continue to flounder and finally sink.

As for griping about a free product!? These free products seem to work quite well:

Dropbox
Google Drive
Box
Amazon Cloud Drive
Microsoft Skydrive
Ubuntu One

Yes, they have a pay-for-expanded-service option but so does ownCloud but just it's marketed differently.
