OwnCloud Sync needs a long time

Postby keamas » Mon Jul 02, 2012 9:53 am

Hey I am testing own cloud at the moment.
I just see the sync needes a long time I just synced a Word file and a 400 MB File and it tookes such a long time.(using my owenServer connected via GB Ethernet so good transfer speed.)
Does the owncloud server software need such a long time to transfer the file and process it or is the client only syncing all 10 min or something like that?
1. Question Why does it take so long?
2. Question what is the max. number of Files and how large can they be max that owncloud can handle them?
Is it only for small files and a few files or can it really handle a lot of files.

I would like to sync all my Pictures between my Mac and Windows Machine.
This are at the moment 37 000 Files and 130 GB

Can owncloud handle this ?

I am experiencing the same issues but with smaller files.
I am running ownCloud on CentOS on a server connected to the same LAN.
Apache has 6-8 instances running, CPU is not spiking out and even Swap is 0Mb in use.
I changed the php max upload/POST size to 500Mb but that does not seem to help.
any suggestions would be very much appreciated
