OSX LDAP Integration

Postby wsmiley » Thu Feb 23, 2012 11:26 pm

Having trouble getting owncloud to authenticate with a ldap user. When we setup we can see the users in ldap but no login

Host has ip address
Port 389
Name and password blank
Base dc=machinename,dc=domain,dc=ca
Filter %uid
Display fields Name uid

We can authenticate with a local user as well
Just installed mamp and owncloud 3 this morning
Running on Lion Server

Thanks

Have you tried setting the filter to 'uid=%uid'?
In my case that works.

And probably you should set 'Display Name Field' to cn.
That looks nicer.

I am also wishing to add own cloud to my companies lion server.
Did you manage to install and run mamp successfully on the server,
Do you know if its possible to install owncloud without mamp, just using the lion server settings.

Thanks

Hi!
I have installed owncloud on OSX server 10.5.8 and it works fine with LDAP. The issue just now is the connection with MySQL. Why using MAMP? You have an excellent platform within OSX server.
Just install it in on OSX and enjoy!
User login filter: uid=%uid << Don't miss.... on OSX
User list filter: objectClass=person <<< Don't miss....
Of course you must use Host: 127.0.0.1 if you have set up LDAP correctly..

Good luck!
