1.) Do NOT create a mysql user nor a desired database
2.) Do NOT reload/create the mysql permissions (flush) nor adding a new user and giving him permissions to access/write to a db
3.) Use the root-credentials in the OC setup screen, it will create it's own user and DB

/Hi!
I have tested the instructions but when i not specify database i´ll be prompt to specify, when i make a new database i got:MDB2 Error: connect failed: _doConnect: [Error message: unable to establish a connection] [Native code: 0]
Rather funny... i have several CMS systems running on 3 servers but this is a little bit tricky.. i´ll hope i will be back with a solution..

Hi,

should work but indeed: you have to specify a database name. However: this database does not need to exist (it may but does not need to be). OC will create a database with the name specified.

Just make sure the credentials you enter are correct ('root' etc...).
If possible try them from a terminal from your choice (Windows cmd.exe, Linux bash or shell) from the system the OC will run: mysql -uroot -p<rootpass>

If this works, OC setup should work too, using the same credentials.
Good luck!

Hi, it´s a little bit strange... i get this from Apache log? And thats the only error message i get, now i´m a little bit confused. In normal cases when you have an database issue you get an error but not now? Funny??
Haha, and the installer has make an database (as before) and 2 users, one named oc_admin@% and one named oc_admin@localhost. I can accept the last but why oc_admin@% ? I have no connection whatsoever between own cloud and MySQL on OSX server. I will check it out as fast as i can, in a week or two... Yes, it was the 4.0.3 version.
