Cannot create user in owncloud 4.0.4

Postby grasch » Fri Jun 29, 2012 8:46 pm

Hi,

just moved this issue from the community forum:
I've done a clean install of owncloud 4.0.4 on CentOs 6.2, all is running fine,
but I cann't create any user; the system is just doing nothing...

I've activated debugging, but there's no error entry in any of the logfiles (webserver,
owncloud-log).
OS: CentOs 6.2 64Bit
MySQL: 5.1.61-1.el6_2.1
Apache: 2.2.15-15.el6.centos.1
PHP: 5.3.3-3.el6_2.8

It seems that different people have the same problem.

I have the same problem with the current development version from git. My workaround:

Add a user to the MySQL database manually. You don't need to add groups or a password. Just do a

INSERT INTO oc_users VALUES ("NewUserName", 0);

and then go to the Users panel in OwnCloud and edit the new user (i.e. set the password and add the account to groups).

I don´t know if this issue comes from this error, but i post it though.

I had the same issue, was trying to crate an account with a 7 digits password and nothing was happening, not even an error message. I tried to create the same account (same login) with a longer password and it worked. It is perhaps a security policy, if so, dev may add a message like "password too short".

Someone could try to delete in settings/js/users.js line 216 :
<code>
location.reload();
</code>

Delete web browser cache too before testing.

thx

Nope, did not work.
I have actually tried the password Testdurrrrr on a test account but it did not work.

How I can add users is by logging in to my MySQL database and insert the new account name, then I can change passwords, groups, quota and etcetera in the Admin User Panel.
