custom mounting

Postby mvdvliet » Tue Nov 19, 2013 3:00 pm

hello,

I installed OC on my synology NAS and everything went very smooth, it is running fine I think.
Now I want to custom mount the users to their "home" folder.
Plus make my "music" folder available to all users (2 actually, so very simple basic home setup :) ).

I have been reading the info I could find.

http://doc.owncloud.org/server/5.0/admi ... onfig.html
http://doc.owncloud.org/server/5.0/admi ... g_gui.html
http://blog.gapinthecloud.com/2012/06/1 ... -owncloud/

And I have been playing with the data/mount.json file for a little while now, but I see no difference at all.

So what I did is the following:

In this folder: /volume1/web/owncloud/data
I creacted a file: mount.json

The content of this file currently:
Code: Select all
{"user":{
    "all":{
        "\/$user\/files\/volume1/music":{
            "class":"\\OC\\Files\\Storage\\Local",
            "options":{ ... }
            }
        }
    "marcel":{
        "\/marcel\/files\/volume1/homes/marcel":{
            "class":"\\OC\\Files\\Storage\\Local",
            "options":{ ... }
            }
        }
    }
}

Everytime I changed something in the file, I restarted apache.

In some of the documentation they are mentioning "settings"; I cannot really find that anywhere.
Are there other admin / settings / configuration pages available.
I tried diskstation\owncloud\settings but not sure if that should give me something (Access forbidden).
Is settings the "Admin" page under the admin dropdown on the right side?

I actually prefer to use the webUI forms but I cannot find that anywhere.
Is it maybe a feature that is not available in the community edition; only commercial package?

Thanks,
Marcel

Hi,

do you have enabled the "External storage support app"?

I enabled the app and now I do see indeed the webUI for configuring the custom mounts.
that is at least some progress.

so I configured it like this:

owncloud.png
owncloud.png (13.94 KiB) Viewed 477 times

still now if I login as marcel I don't see either my personal home folder files or my music.
is the syntax correct?

Hi,

if the syntax is correct you should get an green box instead of the red box. Try to replace the "\" in the Path to "/".

While configuring this have a look at your data/owncloud.log if you're getting any errors.
