[SOLVED] Sabre_DAV_Exception_Forbidden

Postby millz » Tue Apr 01, 2014 12:30 am

Hi Guys,

I added a post to an existing issue some days ago [1]. There, I didn't got an answer. Indeed, I've not given any further information. Now, I did some research and can give a complete insight, asking for help. Unfortunately, I haven't found a proper solution solving my issue.

The problem is about owncloud-sync and my calender sync or the DAV server in general. The owncloud sync client which gives me:
Owncloud: Error downloading https://my.dyndns.org/owncloud/remote.php/webdav - server replied: Forbidden

If I type the URL directly to my browser, I get:
Code: Select all
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
      <d:error><s:exception>Sabre_DAV_Exception_Forbidden</s:exception><s:message>Requested uri (/owncloud/remote.php/webdav) is out of base uri (/owncloud/remote/remote.php/webdav/)</s:message><s:sabredav-version>1.7.6</s:sabredav-version></d:error>

This issue occurs right after updating to apache 2.4, which forces me to use php-fpm as php module and editing my httpd.conf like so to get php working:
Code: Select all
ProxyPassMatch ^/(.*\.php(/.*)?)$ fcgi://127.0.0.1:9000/mnt/usbhdd/wwwroot/$1

Same for the calendar, giving me this after calling the calendar link directly:
Code: Select all

        This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
      <d:error><s:exception>Sabre_DAV_Exception_Forbidden</s:exception><s:message>Requested uri (/owncloud/remote.php/caldav/calendars/millz/millzcalendar) is out of base uri (/owncloud/remote.php/caldav/calendars/millz/mi/remote.php/caldav/)</s:message><s:sabredav-version>1.7.6</s:sabredav-version></d:error>

I am using arch linux (ARMv7), up to date. In detail:
  • PHP 5.5.10
  • Apache/2.4.9
  • Owncloud 6.0.2
  • Owncloud sync-client 1.5.1

Everything else is working fine on my home based webserver.

As mentioned above, I've done research. I found a hint to add Limits to my httpd.conf [2], which I've tried and which don't solved the problem. Others [3] suggested to downgrade to apache 2.2.

Maybe you can help me to find a solution. Would be quiet nice.
Thanks in advance.

all the best
millz

Hey,
had the same probleme fixed it really ugly by editing the end of remote.php:
Code: Select all
$baseuri = OC::$WEBROOT . '/remote.php/'.$service.'/';
/*ugly fix*/$baseuri = "owncloud/remote.php/$service/";
require_once $file;

If your Subdirectory is not mydomain.com/owncloud just change it. For me it just removes the first slash before "owncloud" which comes with $baseuri.
Worked fine for me so far, but not a good thing to do i suppose...
Hopefully somebody who knows what to do can help with a real fix.
Greetings

Hey teddy19,

tried your ugly fix, but almost the same problem for webdav/caldav.

WebDav error message is similar. Calling CalDav directly by using firefox is a bit different, due to the change of the baseuri:
Code: Select all
        This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
<d:error>
  <s:exception>Sabre_DAV_Exception_Forbidden</s:exception>
  <s:message>Requested uri (/owncloud/remote.php/caldav/calendars/millz/millzcalendar) is out of base uri (owncloud/remote.php/caldav/)</s:message>
  <s:sabredav-version>1.7.6</s:sabredav-version>
</d:error>

Oh, sorry.... I missread your first post:
Requested uri (/owncloud/remote.php/caldav/calendars/millz/millzcalendar) is out of base uri (/owncloud/remote.php/caldav/calendars/millz/mi/remote.php/caldav/)

Your "base uri" i corrupt at the end not like mine at the beginning... Curios, i found many post with this kind of errors even in really early versions of owncloud. Since also my ugly fix does not correspond well with all sync-clients i'm gonna downgrade again....

I still haven't found a solution :-(.
There haven't been further clicks to this topic in the past, but here are still a lot of WEBDAV-related topics here.
Insofar, I hope to get awarenes of some professionals regarding this owncloud issue by bumping it up once.
This is fine, hopefully.

all the best
