fault recovery completed

Postby draht » Thu Apr 14, 2016 7:19 pm

Dear forum members,

the server has had a rather painful crash earlier today, leading to a database corruption that was non-trivial to recover. Such a crash was the first of its kind, as the bits and pieces have actually proven to work quite reliably throughout the last 4 years.

Of course, this has also lead to an unfortunate downtime of the forum until 19:00 MEST, which you might have noticed.
In the end, I have had to replay the backup from 5:35am Eastern / 11:35 MEST today, 20160414.

Obviously, this has lead to a loss of postings that were posted on the forum afterwards.
I sincerely apologize for these circumstances, kindly asking those who have contributed to repeat their posting.
It would be a shame if it got lost.

Thank you for your understanding!
 :?

Hello Roman,

thank you for taking care of forum business.
ownCloud is not only about files. There is so much more. Explore the apps to extend your ownCloud.

Nah, the other way around, thank YOU!
Whenever I am active, something went wrong and it is visible.
Whenever you are active, people don't realize, and your efforts are invisible. That's not fair...

So - thank you! :)

Roman.
