513Mb limit after Install

Postby Steve. » Wed May 08, 2013 6:01 pm

So I installed Owncloud. All seems well until I go to the upload button which shows I have a 513mb limit. My hard drive on this server is 6TB so I know I have well over that to upload.

How can I fix this and why isnt there an option in Admin to adjust max upload settings - I cant see one!

Hi,

you don't need to edit anything. This is the relevant part of this FAQ:

The maximum allowed upload size is determined as the minimum of these values:

php configuration entry "post_max_size"
php configuration entry "upload_max_filesize"
The free space left on the target device

Those settings are set in your php.ini or in the .htaccess file in the owncloud root dir.

I had this issue after properly changing the php.ini file. I found out that having AllowOverride set to All in etc/apache2/conf.d/owncloud.conf which seemed to make owncloud ignore the settings in the php.ini file.
Hope this helps!

Yes, the AllowOverride must be set to ALL and this is described in the linked FAQ above and in the manuals:

Ahhhhhh.....

The .htaccess file was not visible, so in root ( /var/www/owncloud/) I just issued the command

nano .htaccess

Then edited the relevant lines.

Thanks for all your help you helped me sort my problem. :D

The FIle i found that needs editing is the .user.ini file found under /usr/local/www/owncloud (using lighttpd)

VigAnthony, you're my hero! I'm also running lighttpd (with php-fpm) and the file that needs to be changed is the .user.ini-file. Thanks for mentioning this here!
