Windows Client Not Syncing

Postby spydah » Thu Apr 05, 2012 1:20 am

Client installed easily and connected to my OwnCloud instance without problems. I was even able to create a folder on the server. The problem is that it never seems to actually sync the files. The icon cycles between the "X", the check, and the green cycle icons.

Where would I find the logs for the client so I can try to find whats going on?

Hi,

I'm actually having the same problem for a different reason it seems. Client- and Servertime are in sync. The info button shows me that

"An internal error number 0 happened."

The directory remains empty even though the owncloud directory with which i'm trying to sync has files in it. The status just keeps on switching between sync ok and error.
Also when I was setting up the sync and entered an owncloud folder that didn't exist on the cloud, it offered me the option to create it. Pushing the create button didn't do anything however.

Anyone got an idea for this one?

ok, I installed the linux client to get a deeper look at what was going on in the back end. Here is what turned up. My owncloud is hosted by Hostmonster. Could they be doing something to cause the 403 & 404 errors? It seems the time skew error is just wrong.

Code: Select all

Working on file test67
STAT result: test67, type=2
Directory of file to open exists.
opening temp directory /tmp/csync.OFHZKn: 42
PUT request on /owncloud/files/webdav.php/test67/csync_timediff.ctmp!
Putting file through memory cache.
Error - PUT status value no 2xx
owncloud_stat owncloud://me.net/owncloud/files/webdav.php/test67/csync_timediff.ctmp called
I have no stat cache, call propfind for /owncloud/files/webdav.php/test67/csync_timediff.ctmp.
Session error string 404 Not Found
stat fails with errno 2
[stderr] 20120408 07:56:57.353 FATAL    csync.time- Synchronisation is not possible! owncloud://me.net/owncloud/files/webdav.php/test67/csync_timediff.ctmp -
Session error string 403 Forbidden
[stderr] 20120408 07:56:57.406 FATAL    csync.api- Clock skew detected. The time difference is greater than 10 seconds!
 #### ERROR String emitted:  "The system time between the local machine and the server differs too much. Please use a time syncronization service (ntp) on both machines."

Upon closer inspection I'm wondering if there is something with the webdav.php and mod_rewrite going on here. Any thoughts?

Actually, this looks to the the offending problem

Error - PUT status value no 2xx

I presume this is stating the the result of the put to webdav.php was != 2xx. How can I troublshoot this further? What is the syntax of interfacing with webdav.php?

FOUND IT!

So it turns out that the time error is indeed erroneous. The actual problem was that my apache config was set to deny HTTP PUTs which cased the webdav.php to fail. I added the following to my .htaccess and that fixed the problem.

Code: Select all

<Limit GET POST>
order allow,deny
allow from all
</Limit>
<Limit PUT DELETE>
order allow,deny
allow from all
</Limit>

Hey,

Those few lines really solve a 2 major issues I had (owncloud 3.0.1 hosted on all-inkl.com)

Issues solved:
* All WebDav clients were able to connect to owncloud but uploads always failed
* The "time differ" error on Win 7 (64)

Thanks a lot!
