When I try to activate an installed plugin, I get this error message:

Hi,

a short search on google for the error "Column 'appid' cannot be null" leads you to:

http://apps.owncloud.com/content/show.p ... &kbid=2016

where you can find a description and a workaround for this problem which could solve it.

Hi Rancor,

you are right... but what is "Google"?? ;-)

To be totally honest: I did see that post before, but I was not sure that it really was my problem. After your recommendation, I tried it and found that it did not make a difference. It threw the same error.

Question: I am not really sure how to install an App from the UI directly as described in this post. When I enter the page with my installed apps, I would not find the wanted app. Then I go to the website with the repository of the apps and there I only find a download button. I never understood how to "officially" install an app.

Hi,

the apps which are not listed in your apps list needs to be installed manually. For this you need to use the mentioned apps.owncloud.com and hit the download button. Depending how the app developer is providing the app you're getting an link to a download page or a direct download. If you're getting a archive you need to extract it into:

owncloud/apps

After that you need to make sure that the extracted folder matches the name of the <id> value in the apps info.xml like this for example:

https://github.com/owncloud/apps/blob/v ... nfo.xml#L3
