Import ics into calendar

Postby joeheb » Thu Jan 02, 2014 6:53 pm

Hi,

maybe I am stupid, but unfortunatley I didn't find any way to import an ics file to my calender. Am I missing something? Thanks

Grml, ok. Once again I found it out myself ;)
You just have to upload the ics file to your files and then click it in the webgui. OC automatically asks to which calendar it should be imported.

Unfortunately, OC does'nt ask me to import. When I click on the ics-file, I just get normal file operation options, such like delete, rename, etc.

What do you mean exactly, that when you click on the file you get options? Those options should appear already when you hover over the file; and when you click on the line of a file, something specific should happen (download or open for "normal" files, import for ics files, ...).

And sorry if that sounds like a stupid question, just want to make sure we're ruling out the basic possible causes - you do have the calendar app enabled, right ;)?

Of course
For months I use per account one personal calendar. I just wanted to import a garbage collection schedule of our town as .ics-file. When I hover the file (after uploading to "files"), my only options are: rename, download, versions, edit and share.

Hi,

there are no options for .ics files. You need to do a double-click on the file to import it.

No luck - by double clicking happens nothing. Ok - my fault, it seems that OC cannot handle this ics-file. I created one with Lighning that works.

Hi,

you could have a look at the javascript console of your browser and your logfiles like described here:

viewtopic.php?f=17&t=7330

Maybe there is a problem when parsing such special ics files which could be fixed in ownCloud. Reporting it to the calendar bugtracker could be useful:

OK I got it!

You have to add the file extention .ics manually before uploading or else it will read the file as BIN.

Hope it helps!
