Unable to download shared file

Postby mattanorak » Sat Apr 26, 2014 5:28 am

Hi,

I've had OC running for a few days now and yesterday updated to 6.0.1.2 on my Synology box. I can access files, share, etc, but if I share a file to an external person (one not registered on the system), they get the link, they see "xyz has shared this file with you...." and a link to download it. When clicking on download, they get:

File not found
Firefox can't find the file at https://myservername.co.uk/owncloud/public.php?service=files&t=87d822d823c32e22098584aaf4f25d93&download.
(Same in IE, by the way).

I've searched and found almost similar occurrences, but nothing that quite matches this.

Everything else works up until a user goes to download a file, and then it fails.

I can provide more info if you let me know what you need.

Thanks!

Hi,

the changelog of the upcoming ownCloud version 6.0.3 contains:

- Fixed "select all" + download on public page

https://owncloud.org/releases/Changelog

So this could fix your problem here.

Ooh, thanks. I'll wait until it becomes a package update for Synology, as the last update went well this way.

Cheers!

Hi,
Just downloaded and installed 6.0.3 and I get the same issue. User is taken to the download page, they click download and they get a page not found error. :(

I now don't think it's a bug, as I have tried it with someone else and theirs works.

Hey ho,

I'm running OC 6.0.3 on a Synology DiskStation as well (DS213+, DSM 5.0-4482) and have the same issues. Additionally, the file download for registred users of my owncloud doesn't work either. Always getting the same error ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND. I tried changing the rights on DSM and crawled the owncloud log on highest log level, without any success.

So I guess it has something to do with DSM? Which DiskStation and DSM version are you using?

Has anyone ideas how to find the problem or fixing it?

Same issues on Synology RS2212+ DSM 5.0-4482.
ownCloud installes from original place (no package)
and get the same error.

for example
This webpage is not found
No webpage was found for the web address: https://webaddress/public.php?service=files&t=48216c8fbf86f9875733396fa7e42fa3&download&path=//MS%20Outlook%20anywhere.pdf

even the file exists

Admin log (Everything) don't show any issues in relationship to this error.

Any ideas how to fix it? Thx in advance!

P.S In internet explorer (Save As) the file name is show not as ....anywhere.pdf, but as anywhere_pdf. May be thats the problem?

I'm running a Synology DS213j with the latest DSM software (5.0-4482), also happened with the previous DSM version, too.

Got it. Attention Synology users...

I can't take credit for this, I got the solution from a colleague who pointed me here:
http://sbdomo.esy.es/2014/05/my-reading ... /#more-168

But if you don't speak French, all you need to know is that you need to change the following file:
/etc/httpd/conf/extra/mod_xsendfile.conf-user

to include:

XSendFilePath /volume1

So, my whole mod_xsendfile.conf-user reads like this:

Code: Select all

LoadModule xsendfile_module modules/mod_xsendfile.so
XSendFile on
XSendFilePath /var/services/web /var/services/homes
SetEnv MOD_X_SENDFILE_ENABLED yes
XSendFilePath /volume1

Then issue httpd -k restart to restart the http server, and you're done!

:P
