Postby owncloud123 » Mon May 05, 2014 4:24 pm

Hi,

When I am trying start owncloud 6.x edition on my NAS server (Zyxel NSA 310S) ,this message appears:

Setting locale to en_US.UTF-8/fr_FR.UTF-8/es_ES.UTF-8/de_DE.UTF-8/ru_RU.UTF-8/pt_BR.UTF-8/it_IT.UTF-8/ja_JP.UTF-8/zh_CN.UTF-8 failed
Please install one of theses locales on your system and restart your webserver.

what can I do???

Hi,

you need to install the locales as already mentioned in this shown message. How to do this depends on your system so and is nothing ownCloud specific.

try editing /../owncloud/lib/private/util.php
and uncomment:

Code: Select all

      if(!OC_Util::isSetLocaleWorking()) {
         $errors[] = array(
            'error' => 'Setting locale to en_US.UTF-8/fr_FR.UTF-8/es_ES.UTF-8/de_DE.UTF-8/ru_RU.UTF-8/pt_BR.UTF-8/it_IT.UTF-8/ja_JP.UTF-8/zh_CN.UTF-8 failed',
            'hint' => 'Please install one of theses locales on your system and restart your webserver.'
         );
      }

should disable locales check at start

Hi,

i don't think this check is not there just for fun or to annoy users. Instead of removing this check install the needed locales. :)

Hi,

then it is very obvious that you either need to edit this file as the file owner or set the correct access permissions to this file.

But when editing this file please don't create support requests in this forums when having problems with umlauts or other special chars.
