Owncloud 6 on Zyxel NSA310S - config.php edit not possible

Postby fusshupe » Tue Jul 21, 2015 8:58 am

Hello owncloud community,

I have been struggling with this topic for quite a while now and I need your help!

I have installed OC 6.0.9. on a separate share (called owncloud) on my zyxel NSA310S and it is working fine.
On the NSA310S I have activated the Webpublishing of this share for http and https and I set up the UPnP port mapping for port 80.

My internet provider is Kabel Deutschland, I have my KD modem in bridge mode and I am running my network on a Dlink 860L router. On the router I have activated DyDNS/ entered my account details and I have set up the port forwarding to my NSA 310S for ports 80 and 443.

When trying to enter my onwcloud installation in my internal network, I can access without any problems via Webbrowser and also the client apps are working for iOs, Mac and Win.
But when I am trying to enter the owncloud from the internet using http://<myddnsaddress>/MyWeb/Owncloud/owncloud I see the known "Untrusted domain" message (see pic).

In all the guides, instructions and forum threads I read about this topic, it is mentioned to "simply" edit the config.php file and add the <myddnsaddress> to the trusted domain section.
I really would love to do that, but I simply cannot edit the config.php file, because I am getting an authorization error. I have tried to edit the file straight from win explorer, mac finder and this does not work. So I tried to login with admin rights to the NSA310S and browse to the config.php file - again the message that I am not authorized to edit the file.

Does anyone here have an idea and good instructions on how to edit the config.php on my NSA310S so that I can add the address to the trust domains?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi,

any reason why you had choosen oC 6.0.9? Personally i would go to at least 7.0.7 which also ships an "wizard" which allows you to update / set the correct trusted_domain setting from the message shown on the screenshot.

In general its also recommended that you ask such questions about problems with file edits at a specific community dedicated to your system as those often have more knowledge about your system.

Hi,

I read somewhere that NSA310S only supports up to version OC version 6 because of RAM.
But I will try with OC7.0.7. and report!
Thanks for the hint!

Hi,

i don't think there is a difference between the RAM usage of the oC versions. The never versions even have some Database and performance improvements.

So if your NAS is providing PHP 5.4+ i would also go directly for oC 8.1 instead of using the older releases.

I tried first with OC 8.1.0 and I could not complete the installation because of the error message attached.

Then I installed OC 7.0.7. - installation is all fine, but when I try to access the owncloud from internet, I do not get re-routet to the "not trusted domain" page, but instead I receive a ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

Can I trigger this "wizard" somehow differently?

FINALLY!

I managed to add the ddns address to the trusted domain section using the "wizard".
There were some issues with the sercurity certificate when entering the webplatform via https.

Thank you @RealRancor for your hint with the wizard!

Hi,

you can't do anything with that mentioned wizard to install curl. This is just a wizard to add an trusted domain into ownCloud.

To solve your issue you need to install php5-curl / php-curl first via the package manager of your system.
