after moving to a new server: PHP Fatal error

Postby warhammer » Thu Sep 24, 2015 10:17 pm

Hello

I moved my installation via tar from one server to another (with a newer version of Ubuntu).
But now I get an error message:
PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function error() on a non-object in "..."/lib/private/log/errorhandler.php on line 64

Didn't find much entries in the net and I haven't any idea whats happend. :(

Thanks!

Did you preserve the permissions?

You migrated the same version (no update to a newer owncloud version at the same time?)?

Your error looks like there are some files missing or you don't have permission to read them. You can try to fix the permissions (https://doc.owncloud.org/server/8.1/adm ... rong-perms). Or you can use the original owncloud files from the official archive: https://owncloud.org/changelog (take the same version that you used before). Before placing the files, remove all folders except /path/to/owncloud/data and /path/to/owncloud/config.

Ok, thanks.

After installing the same (very) old 6.0.2 version it looks better.
Better means: In the browser i get a window to upgrade owncloud to 8.XX. So, no empty screen, no error messages in logfiles.

But I cannot do the upgrade. With the browser I get only an message "Not possible".
With ./occ upgrade I get the message "Not possible to upgrade from V6 to V8" - or a similar message.

... how can I upgrade?

Thanks!

You need to upgrade step by step:

6.0.2 -> latest 6.0.x -> latest 7.0.x -> latest 8.0.x -> latest 8.1.x

Upgrade instructions are available at doc.owncloud.org
