after occ files:scan some folders are still hidden

Postby buffoon » Wed Dec 10, 2014 12:56 pm

Hi!

I've got a problem on a OwnCloud Server. I'm using it with external mounts. Once a day I'm calling "php occ files:scan --all" which seems to do a good job and scans all the contents of the external smb mount. However when I'm trying to browse to one share some subfolders are hidden. I can only see 3 out of 6 (even if they're actually listed in the output of the files:scan)
If I try to put in the URL of those folders manually I can access them but the clients do not sync them because on a normal listing they're simply not shown.

Is there any way to debug this further?

Owncloud Version: 7.0.4
Server OS: Debian 7.7 - Wheezy
php version: 5.4.35-0+deb7u2
mysql version: 5.5.40-0+wheezy1
apache version: 2.2.22-13+deb7u3

First start could be looking at logfiles: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=7330
Maybe there's some related (error) messages there.

I just got in mind that maybe it could be a problem with special characters? The 1st folder has a à in its name. A quick google search gave me hint that it could be a problem with locales, however I already have en_US.utf8 in my locales and typing in the url with the utf-8 encoded url gave me access to that folder. So OC surely can access it but why isn't it listed and therefore not synced?

Hm good question. Nothing at all related in logfiles?
Developers will probably know more, you could report this at https://github.com/owncloud/core/issues

That's what I wondered too... This really seems to be an issue with smb shares. I now mounted the share through fstab on a local filesystem and then configured a local share in OC which works as expected. At least sync works now as expected.

I'll file a bug report the next days as this issue seems a bit strange and might affect others too.

Did you resolve this. ime working on a incremental backup solution which will need file:scan for the restore and wondering how robust it is.
