Webfrontend not usable

Postby nitroxmh » Tue Apr 26, 2016 5:59 pm

Hello,

I must use Debian Jessie in a production environment. That means that I can't update to the current version without changing a lot of libs and so on.

The Webfrontend is not usable. All lines and pictures are on the same place on the screen.

Screenshot:

Is there an alternative Webfrontend?

Debian Jessie (the stable one) means:
Owncloud 7.0.4
php5 5.6
apache2 2.4.10-10

Used Browsers: a lot on different OS.

There was no special update or so. Everything works with the original stable Debian Jessie out of the box.

Any idea?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

i think thats not the answer you're expecting but:

- you really should consider to migrate to a recent ownCloud version
- the argument about "changing a lot of libs and so on" is not valid here as the official packages will ship all necessarily libs
- oC 7.0.4 is outdated (released 1 1/2 years ago), contains various bugs which might cause this and which are probably already fixed in newer oC versions
- oC 7 will be unsupported starting in a week

Some pointers how to migrate to the official package where provided here:

https://github.com/owncloud/documentati ... -214004426

It seems also that a blogpost is in preparation guiding users to migrate from the debian packages to the official ones.

Thanks for the answer!

If there is a way to use the recent oC-Version without breaking the dependencies of Debian Jessie I will give them a try.

The coming blogpost to migrate to the current version sounds interesting.

Just also remembered that there where some reports about the same in the past and had luck finding the existing thread:

Nice. But as a mid-term measure its still advised to migrate to a recent oC version :-)

I think jospoortvliet wrote recently that he wanted to write a guide how to migrate to the owncloud repos.
