[SOLVED] Problem with installation on Ubuntu 12.04

Postby psychoP@T » Wed Jun 13, 2012 2:42 pm

Hello,

I'd like to try OwnCloud but i'm not able to pass the first step of the installation process. Actually, I can't install the php modules required by OwnCloud :
"sudo apt-get install apache2 php5 php5-json php-xml php-mbstring php5-zip php5-gd
Lecture des listes de paquets... Fait
Construction de l'arbre des dépendances
Lecture des informations d'état... Fait
Note : sélection de « php5-common » au lieu de « php5-json »
E: Impossible de trouver le paquet php-xml
E: Impossible de trouver le paquet php-mbstring
E: Impossible de trouver le paquet php5-zip"

Is there an alternate list of packages for Ubuntu?

Extra question : Is there somewhere a list of ports used by OwnCloud?

Thank u!

I had the same problem on my Ubuntu 12.04 Server and i did not want to use SQLLight.
So i installed LAMP and later php5-curl, because the owncloud Dependencies status told me that php-curl is used by Bookmarks.
On the server you can use the command "sudo tasksel" where you can choice LAMP to install it.

L(linux)A(apache)M(mysql)P(php)

Installation is completed! I will be able to test owncloud!

To conlude, what I did to solve my problem :
sudo apt-get install taskel
sudo taskel install lamp-server
sudo apt-get install php5-curl
sudo apt-get install php5-gd
And then, I followed the normal installation process!

I have one question (a little bit off-topic, I know, sorry for that... but I thought it too small to start a separate topic ;)):

because the owncloud Dependencies status told me that php-curl is used by Bookmarks
.

Which owncloud version are you using, the latest stable, 4.0.2? Because in that version I don't see this "Dependencies status" that is talked about in various places... should it exist there? I checked the admin page in settings of the admin user, and it only shows "File handling", "Import user account", "Export this ownCloud instance", "Enable Files Versioning", "Enable Resharing" and "Log"...

Seems I'm missing quite a lot of settings!

@yakumo: is what you show what you see just after installation, without configuring any settings to this panel, or is there maybe an additional app needed to enable these additional settings? Because mine is basically a pristine 4.0.2 installation!

I'm really wondering how it could happen that so much is missing. Also the order seems different, so the various sections are probably implemented as some kind of modules? Is there maybe some way to reset the view?
