OwnCloud 4.0.3 Max Upload Size = 0B?

Postby john » Wed Jun 27, 2012 7:48 pm

I just performed a clean install of 4.0.3, and am currently getting an error that my max upload size is 0B. Whenever I try to upload something, no matter the size it says the file is too large. I've edited my php.ini file to allow up to 2G files, however no changes are appearing in owncloud. Here's a picture to show what's happening, any thoughts?

upload_max_filesize = 3000M
max_file_uploads = 1000

(this is owncloud 3, the latest version in ubuntu)

i think the problem is that there are not enought bits to store limit size in bytes.
a real solution to this is change owncloud to store limit size in megabytes instead.

After updating your php.ini file make sure to restart apache. Also make sure to use the M/G notations for size. 2GB would be 2G not 2000M.

Currently I'm php.ini says

post_max_size = 1.2G
upload_max_filesize = 1G
max_file_uploads = 1000

Still not working, and still not sure what the issue is...

ok, I'm starting to think the issue is simply my web host. Does anyone have a good webhost they recommend for me to switch to?

I use server axis. They essentially give you a linux box that you can do whatever you want with. http://serveraxis.com/index.php

Make sure you restart apache when you change the php.ini

See if you can create a php script with the following. It'll list all the active php parameters:

Code: Select all

<?php

// Show all information, defaults to INFO_ALL
phpinfo();

// Show just the module information.
// phpinfo(8) yields identical results.
phpinfo(INFO_MODULES);

?>

Any luck with the test scripts? They should indicate what the real running php.ini settings are.

Sorry for the delay... Yes, below is a screencap, that shows both my post max size and max upload size. As recommended by OwnCloud, 1.2G and 1G respectively.

Also, not sure this is frowned upon or not, but if you want to see for yourself, OC is installed at http://www.johnswall.com/docs and my phpinfo is at http://www.johnswall.com/docs/phpinfo.php
