Yes you can call me stupid, bit I found this post after I upgraded to V8 using the GUI. And yes I have a blank screen now.
In my defense I am a novoice Owncloud user....
So what should I do next? Can I fix this manually, or can I revert back to the backup that was made.
Or should I just simply delete everything and setup V8 from scratch?

I'm using a hosted server.

Gr,
Johan

A quick fix could be to check your oc_appconfig database table and to set all non core apps to enabled = no, but there are probably better ways to deal with the situation.

A couple of points to the Upgrade in admin manual https://doc.owncloud.org/server/8.0/adm ... grade.html
- step #4 tells you to download and unpack the OC install to an empty directory, then step #7 tells you to unpack it again - I think step #4 should tell only to download the OC install archive
- once OC install is unpacked in (step #8), should the manual also say to change owner/group of the owncloud dir?
- step #10 - changing the data location, the step refers to "Advanced Options" in Installation Wizard, however there's no "Advanced Options" there https://doc.owncloud.org/server/8.0/adm ... izard.html
- I'm not 100% sure now, but I think I had to turn off maintenance mode manually after the OC was installed

Hello,
before updating my owncloud I do some stock and I need your help to be able to make the right choices.

Here's the background:

Code: Select all

Environment: Debian wheezy
Server: Apache
Database: Mysql
Client: Firefox
OC-Version: 8.0
PHP-Version: 5.4.36-0 + deb7u3

I read here (viewtopic.php?f=31&t=26310) Some functions require php 5.5xx. ok but what? If it concerns a donation app I do not need so I will stay on my current version of php.

To update I want to go through the debian package manager apt.
The deposit I use is:
cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/owncloud.list
deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositori ... ebian_7.0/ /

apt-get update & apt-get upgrade should put me this update right? For that currently this is not the case and I'm a little surprised to stay on the 8.0 server so I updated the morning and evening.

Thank you for your help.

Do NOT post problems with your setup here, or if encounter a problem which might be a bug. For problems with your please open a new topic, if you identified a so far unknown problem, please report it to the bugtracker!

We just get here a collection of known (and confirmed) bugs! If a bug is missing in our list, you can leave a note with a reference to the corresponding github-topic.

Encryption keys needs to be manually migrated via the occ command line according to:

@RealRancor: Is this the new behavior for OC 8.0.3+?
What can people on shared hosting environments do? There are probably some who thought encryption is a good idea...
