Seagate Personal Cloud

Does anyone know how to update the Seagate Personal Cloud drive (own cloud ver 6.x) to version 8.x? Seagate is very sparse on information.

Hi,

probably the easiest (but maybe not by Seagate supported) way is to locate the installation on the filesystem and then do the manual upgrade like described here:

https://doc.owncloud.org/server/8.1/adm ... -procedure

Your upgrade path would be:

oC 6.0.x -> latest 6.0.x -> latest 7.0.x -> latest 8.0.x -> latest 8.1.x

Also make sure that the Seagate device is shipping the requirements listened here:

https://doc.owncloud.org/server/8.1/adm ... requisites
*gone*

Seems like this Personal NAS uses the same App installer as business-storage-8-bay-rackmount-nas.
You need to get inside the container to manually upgrade owncloud as you can do on any debian7.

Code: Select all

sudo rainbow --enter org.owncloud.owncloud

Worked on mine. It was a debian7 with owncloud 6.04 with SQLite3, now Im upgrading to owncloud9 with postgreSQL
Hope it helps someone.
