vhost file doesnt help with /dev/urandom not readable by php

Postby ichse » Sun Sep 06, 2015 5:44 pm

Hello,
my setup of OC is on a Synology DiskStation with the latest DSM (5.1).
after upgrading from OC 8.0.4 to 8.1.1 I experienced the following problem in the admin panel:

"/dev/urandom not readable by php"

I already found a fix on github, but that doesnt work for me. Im talking about that one: https://github.com/owncloud/core/issues/17465
"The addition of /dev/urandom needed to be in php_admin_value open_basedir within the vhost file"

When I navigate inside my vhost conf I see nothing like that: (which I presume it should)

Code: Select all

<Directory /usr/share/webapps/owncloud/>
    Options FollowSymlinks
    AllowOverride all
    Require all granted
    php_admin_value open_basedir "/srv/http/:/home/:/tmp/:/usr/share/pear/:/usr/share/webapps/owncloud/:/etc/webapps/owncloud:/dev/urandom"
</Directory>

So where can I find the proper vhost file? (eventhough it should be that one). How do your vhost files look like?
Mine only looks like this:

Code: Select all

NameVirtualHost *:80
<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerName *
DocumentRoot /var/services/web
</VirtualHost>

edit:
alright - I've found the solution: the line in question can be found at /etc/php/conf.d and then inside the file "user-settings.ini"

thank you for any help! best regards!

Hi,

When having an open_basedir configured within your php.ini file, make sure to include /dev/urandom.

Hi,

sorry but try to include /dev/urandom again instead of /dev. At my environment /dev was needed (probably because of an Bug in PHP) but /dev/urandom should be used instead.

thx for your answer. Including "/dev/urandom" was the solution to the problem.

Best regards
