Update from 8.1.1 to 8.2.x/9.0.x not shown

Hi RealRancor,

i installed a ownCloud 8.1.1 one hour ago to test the update to the latest release (9.x) but the updater says it's the newest.

There are several 8.1.x and 8.2.x releases so what could be the problem here?

oC has internet connection, access to webinterface only HTTP.

Hi,

if you're installing fresh then choose directly 8.1.6 or 8.2.3. As updating from 8.1.x to 9.0.x is not supported you need to do an manual upgradeto 8.2.x.

I installed 8.1.1 fresh to test the update. Our customer has 8.1.1 running.

I'll test to manually update it.

Hi,

make sure that you're doing the following upgrade path the have a reliable upgrade:

8.1.1 -> 8.1.6 -> 8.2.3 -> 9.0.1

In between the major versions jumps (8.1->8.2->9.0) make sure all files and folders except /data/ and /config/ are deleted.

I'm on ownCloud 8.2.3 (stable) now and again don't see any Update.

Not sure if it is enabled for the updater app. But for upgrade, I would do a manual upgrade, there are a few more steps but it is more reliable. Also note that the calendar and contact apps were rewritten and don't have all functions (yet) that the old version had.

Just read in IRC that the update to 9.0.1 via the updater has been pulled back. Only 9.0.2 will be made available via the updater.

This is because of https://github.com/owncloud/updater/issues/316

I do have the same problem with my 8.1.1. installation.

I tells me, that the version is current and that there is no update available!

Very, very strange!

Waht to do to upgrade to 8.1.6 or 8.1.7 ??
