Cloud not accessible after moving - ports?

Postby domeb » Mon May 30, 2016 2:56 pm

Hello everyone,

I had an owncloud running on Ubuntu 15.10 which has been reachable in the www via DNYDNS-service. (mydomain.dyndns.org/owncloud)
Now I moved to another city. I set up everything with a new router and everything works fine, except the access from external.

So if I call mydomain.dyndns.org/owncloud/ being connected to my local network, everything works. But doing the same from external does not work.

I played around with ports.conf (apache) but nothing changed. Owncloud administration says "server is not connected to the internet" but it is!

I'm running
Owncloud 8.1.6
Ubuntu 15.10
PHP 5.6.11-1ubuntu3.4 (cli)

owncloud.config:

Code: Select all

<VirtualHost 192.168.2.22:80>

   #### Redirect to port 443 ###
   RewriteEngine on
   ReWriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} !^443$
   RewriteRule ^/(.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [NC,R,L]
   #### End of Redirection configuration ###

   DocumentRoot /media/myuser/d73a9d59-8108-4ec3-9b80-321d4003751f/www/owncloud/

   <Directory /media/myuser/d73a9d59-8108-4ec3-9b80-321d4003751f/www/owncloud>
       Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
      AllowOverride All
      Require all granted
   </Directory>
</VirtualHost>

<VirtualHost 192.168.2.22:443>

   ####Configuration for SSL #####
   SSLEngine on
   SSLCertificateFile /etc/apache2/ssl/owncloud.pem
   SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/apache2/ssl/owncloud.key
   #### End of SSL Configuration ####

   DocumentRoot /myuser/myuser/d73a9d59-8108-4ec3-9b80-321d4003751f/www/owncloud/

   <Directory /myuser/myuser/d73a9d59-8108-4ec3-9b80-321d4003751f/owncloud>
      Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
      AllowOverride All
      Require all granted
   </Directory>
</VirtualHost>

apache2 ports.conf

Code: Select all

NameVirtualHost *:80
Listen 80

<IfModule ssl_module>
   Listen 443
</IfModule>

<IfModule mod_gnutls.c>
   Listen 443
</IfModule>

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

[EDIT]
Another day without solution...

The behaviour is very strange and I think not the configuration of the owncloud or apache is the problem.
Connected to the local network I can access the owncloud via https://192.168.2.22/ownlcoud/ and https://mydomain.dyndns.org/owncloud/
External there is a connection timeout. If I use the linux server's firefox the internet works, but not on some https:// - sites?! I can not acces github sites on this machine but for example facebook. On other machines in the same network all these sites work. Is it possible that the port forwarding of the router makes problems?
Argh...

So you always use port 443 (from inside and outside)?
Could be a problem with port-forwarding or a firewall on your router? You can use a port-scanner from outside to verify the open ports.

Yes I want to use 443 from inside and outside. Is this a problem?

Port Scanner says that all ports are closed... In the settings of the router portforwarding is enabled for port 443 and the firewall is disabled for this port. So it has to be a problem of the router? The strange thing is: if I call the public WAN/owncloud from inside the network it works...

No, that's fine.

Hard to say, did you reload the settings? Or your provider is blocking port 443?

I don't think so. We had the same provider before, and it worked.

But I will try to change the port the cloud is listening to...

Your dyndns-entry is correctly updated and doesn't point to your old ip?

Yes, of course!

Changing the port does not work... I think the router is the problem...
