Hi,

quoting from the documentation:

The data directory on the server is exclusive to ownCloud and must not be modified manually.

https://doc.owncloud.org/server/8.1/adm ... ync-issues
https://doc.owncloud.org/desktop/2.0/tr ... her-issues

As you did this unsupported modification of the data directory its very likely the source of your issue.

But was working in oder versions !
So there is no sync of mysql with server folders and you can only set up now a big music database from scratch on a new server by client upload (mysql entry) if you want to do so.
: new usb drive (new touch of files) every client has to syn the hole stuff :-) ok mv is better ..if it works on the first run :-)

Any way: Why CRC is not file time stamp depending on server in database on compare ?
First write wins ..very simple !

Is dual ediditing of shared files supported by owncloud ..could not remember where this was mentioned !

You can use the external storage feature to include other directories on your server (where you can upload files via SFTP/FTP/SMB/NFS/...). There are several problems, you can probably deal with it if you modify the right places in the database but it is not officially supported: https://github.com/owncloud/documentation/pull/1588

I think they are currently working on something with file-hashing: https://github.com/owncloud/core/issues/11811 (helping hands are probably welcome).

solved partly: If you want to distribute manuals .pdf or news .ebub (calibre) you can update the single "download only" folder with this "abuse" command in your cron job after you copyed the stuff to oc server folder
e.g.: for /Books/News
sudo -u www-data php occ -all --path=/<oc_user_name>/Books/News

files:scan [-p| --path="..."] [-q| --quiet] [--all] [user_id1] .. [user_idN]

in the call cron.daily bash sript you do not need sudo
and you should execute from or cd to /var/www/owncloud

Ok how to execute as www-data in script called by root (cron) is still open.. I have to google because www-data has no login :?:

Best regards,
PP
