change to owncloud subdir when upgrade database

Postby dereut » Mon Dec 07, 2015 6:36 pm

hi,

I run owncloud on an OVH server with debian 8, apache, mariadb, varnish, https
my installation is in a subdir : https ://www.xxxxxxx.net/owncloud
I upgraded from 8.1.3 to 8.2.1

after the upgrade finished, I had only a black page and error 500 on loading the index.php

after many test, I found out that if I rename the subdir from owncloud to owncloudX, the site would work but every-time I reinstall an app, I would have to change the trailing X to another value. I am now at owncloud6 :D

if I rename my subdir to owncloud, it show me a blank page again

I have flushed and restarted all caches, apache2, mysql. name it, I restarted it

I have moved the owncloud directory to another of my domain name, with exactly the same settings in the apache conf and it works on the other one, I move it back to my first domain name, and it works only if I keep renaming the directory.

does anyone have an idea where to look for the problem in this behavior ?

reup

What errors are shown in your logfiles?

I just changed back to https: //mysite/owncloud instead of https ://mysite/owncloud6 and get the same error

by the way, I installed another site in a subdir : http: //mysite/pydio and this works as well

I suspected something wrong in my mysite.conf for apache, so I remove all directive, same result

below are the /var/log/apache2/mysite_error.log

[Tue Dec 08 10:54:42.305486 2015] [:error] [pid 29990] [client x.x.x:54774] PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function getLogger() on null in /xxxxxxx/owncloud/lib/public/util.php on line 166

It looks like you have some old code somewhere.

How did you upgrade? Manual->Did you delete all owncloud files (except config/* and data/*)?

Do you use varnish on owncloud? Can you disable it temporarily?

no varnish as this is on https and I have varnish only on port 80 --> 8080

I first upgraded using the owncloud upgrade function in admin, then when it failed, I did a manual upgrade

I also reinstall completely owncloud, with a new DB

strange this is that if I have 2 directories, one called owncloud6 and one called owncloud, none will work while they are perfect copy of each other. as soon as I rename owncloud to another name, owncloud6 will work

I understand that it seems to point to something on my server, but again, no cache, reboot many times,

I am lost here

Or your vhost-configuration. Are you sure about your apache-config (there is sites-enabled, conf.d, ...)? Do you use a webhosting panel (cpanel, plesk, ...)?

tflidd, first thank you for taking the time to reply to me

this is a OVH/Kimsufi machine controlled by me, no cpanel or other. all is done by ssh

I have monted 2 domain on it,
https ://site1/owncloud
https ://site2/test

both site have the exact same conf in /etc/apache2/site-enabled (site1.conf and site2.conf) except for the names and directories. site1 works only not with the owncloud name in the url
site2 works everytime

only site1 return the error posted previously

I want to point out that it is not so an issue anymore as I have advised all my 3 users that the url is changed. but as it happen every time I upgrade owncloud, it can be annoying. my site was down for a week previously until I figure out that I needed to change the directory name. this could be a bug and fall on someone else as well

Did you adopt the paths and URLs in your config/config.php? For the data-directory, there's also something to fix in your database (oc_storages).

my data directory is out of the website directory so as soon as my config.php is using the correct path (and it is) it does not matter anymore if I rename the subdir owncloud or owncloud6 or owncloudbkp. but strangely it works in any cases except woncloud.

I am now looking at emtyieng oc_filecache in the DB. it is few thousand of row while I do not have so many files.
