Data directory (/media/serverhdd/cloud) is readable for othe

Postby lynx123 » Wed Dec 16, 2015 2:27 pm

So I'm making my home server with owncloud (mysql and webmin)
and when I get into the page where I need to fill out info, I fill it out.
Then I get to this page saying:

Data directory (/media/serverhdd/cloud) is readable for other users
Please change the permissions to 0770 so that the directory cannot be listed by other users.

and this:

Data directory (/media/serverhdd/cloud) not writable by ownCloud
Permissions can usually be fixed by giving the webserver write access to the ownCloud directory

I've read around on forums but I don't understand anything, I'm new to linux and I really just want to get this working. any idea how to fix this?

P.S I'm using an external HDD

Please check the permissions for
/media
/media/serverhdd
as well. www-data needs to be able to go through these directories as well.
