I created an app to view activity (you're welcome)

Also a less functional OC App that hasn't been well test here: https://apps.owncloud.com/content/show. ... ent=174586

Since we've all heard the developers won't view the forum and they aren't taking request.... I took the liberty of helping myself and others out. I know a lot of people want to know what people are using THEIR server to transmit. For businesses and even personal use you could get in a lot of trouble dealing with people storing data and sharing it with others. Examples: Child porn, patient information, illegal music shares...

With such a big threat out there, I took it upon myself to create an application that shows you what's going on on your server. I'm not sure why they made it an enterprise feature, but I really think with the security risk they ought to leave that as a standard feature. So assuming no developers will see this and patch it, here it is.

You can click on the Shared Links tab and actually download whatever that person shared provided they didn't password protect it and the link is working. This is working with 8.2.1. Not tested on other versions. Be sure you set your url correctly. IE: https://cloud.foo.com

Configure the settings under File> Settings. The first time the app loads it will be slow because it is timing out due to no network settings being placed yet.

I only tested resolving LDAP usernames (uuid) on my own domain. If OwnCloud uses the UUID for the username under Users tab in OwnCloud website, you may or may not see the names get resolved correctly on this app. It works for me inside my domain environment. Later I can create a cross-walk in the database, but for beta this is what you get.

If your MySQL database isn't configure for external use, make sure you configure that.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

P.S. No hurt feelings intended if the developers do run across this. It's a separate program that only works in Windows. But I do ask that you look into the security aspect a little harder. There are plenty of other features that only enterprise gets that's worth upgrading for. I don't think this is a security that is worth sacrificing. I felt so strongly I took the time (ok it took a day, but still) to make my own app.

Hi,

thanks for sharing this. Just a question:

Do you mean they aren't taking feature requests? If yes thats not true, feature requests can be posted like described here:

I may rework this into an OwnCloud App to view inside OwnCloud if anyone would prefer that.
