Max upload size

Postby ThePainfull » Tue Mar 01, 2016 3:03 pm

Environment : ?

Server: Apache (I think)

Database: MySQL

Client: ?

OC-Version: 8.2

PHP-Version: 5.5

Hi all,

So I want to change the default max upload size from 300MB to 1GB. I tried changing it in the admin panel, but when I try, nothing changes (I don't get any errors, it just refreshes the page when I click "save" and comes back to 300MB). So I changed :

php_value upload_max_filesize 1G
php_value post_max_size 1G

in owncloud/.htaccess and :

upload_max_filesize=1G
post_max_size=1G

in owncloud/.user.ini but still, I cannot upload files bigger than 300MB...

I really can't think of anything else at this point, any ideas are welcome.

Thanks !

Hi,

the documentation how to raise upload limits are available here:

viewtopic.php?f=17&t=7733
https://doc.owncloud.org/server/8.2/adm ... ation.html

There you should find most pointers how to fix such issues. A wild guess is, that the limits are configured in your php.ini and can't be changed via .htaccess or .user.ini.

Okay so i read the documentation, and from what i gather i should change my php.ini. So i looked how to find it using this answer http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8684 ... my-php-ini but the location that i got (opt/php/lib/php.ini) doesn't appear in my ftp client (i use filezilla). Did I miss anything ? I'm really lost !

Hi,

any chances this is a shared hoster? If yes those are very likely "hard limits" of your hoster which you can't circumvent.
