files:transfer-ownership not working correctly

files:transfer-ownership not working correctly

Steps to reproduce
1. execute as root "./occ files:transfer-ownership User1 User2

Expected behaviour
The folder "Transferred from USER1 on TIME-STAMP" should be created, with all folders and files from USER1.

Actual behaviour
The folder "Transferred from USER1 on TIME-STAMP" exists, but is empty

Server configuration
Operating system: Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS
Web server: Apache
PHP version: 5.5.9-1ubuntu4.17
ownCloud version (see ownCloud admin page): 9.0.3
Updated from an older ownCloud or fresh install: Updated
ownCloud log (data/owncloud.log): Nothing in logs. No additional output from -vvv

Also please note, I cannot access the data directory from the command line. It is owned by www-data. Could this be the culprit?

Did you try running the command as www-data?

from the owncloud folder on your server:
sudo -u www-data php occ files:transfer-ownership user1 user2
