Better sqlite or mysql for private use?

Postby a_kemper » Sun Jun 09, 2013 4:13 pm

Hi,

I'm currently running the latest OC with sqlite to sync a couple of files just for me.

In the near future I plan to extend the service to also provide PIM sync and include additional users for my family. In such a situation is it worth to switch from sqlite to mysql for performance or any other reasons? If not anticipatory done, (how) would it be (easily) possible to replace the internal database by mysql later on?

Thx,
Andreas

Hi,

there is a longer thread about this available here:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6437

and a note in the official documentation here:

http://doc.owncloud.org/server/5.0/admi ... abase.html

Changing the db from sqlite to mysql is not easy and not directly supported by OC.
