Malformed Server Configuration - Android client

Postby Strathy » Wed Aug 07, 2013 2:53 am

I'm able to use ownCloud on my desktop, but when I attempt to login with my Android device, I get 'Malformed Server Configuration'. Seems to be something to do with certificates? I don't know anything about this stuff - any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Why do you think?

Have you checked server log file?
Webserver logs?
ownCloud is not only about files. There is so much more. Explore the apps to extend your ownCloud.

I had the same problem.

In my case, it was because I had set up a forwarded DNS entry to the server for convenience (i.e. http://cloud.xxx.com pointing to http://my.internal.address:port) . It turns out that the app can't deal with that.

If I use the direct address (http://my.internal.address:port), it all works fine.

Maybe you're experiencing something similar.

Peter.

I too have had this problem but mine was to do with the status.php showing installed as false.

https://yourowncloudsever.com/status.php

Will show something like

Code: Select all

 {"installed":"false","version":"5.0.20","versionstring":"5.0.11","edition":""}

I fixed this by editing config.php from:

Code: Select all

<?php
$CONFIG = array (
  'installed' => 'true',

to

Code: Select all

<?php
$CONFIG = array (
  'installed' => '1',

status.php showed installed and true and android app worked straight away.

Hope that helps

Something very, very wrong there in your php installation.
